When I was growing up, I had a friend who literally believed it was a cardinal sin to not own a matching bra and knicker set. Even at the age of 15. And from then on I remembering thinking – is it odd that I don’t match?? Is this a thing everyone does apart from me???
Let’s just say, I definitely panicked/thought a lot more about it than I should have. And as I’ve gotten older, I’ve gone through multiple stages of caring/not caring for different reasons.
Now I work for Brastop and my lingerie drawer is fully stocked with well-fitting, beautiful bras, I definitely find it easier to grab a bra with matching knickers, even at 7 o’clock on a Monday morning when it’s the last thing on my mind. But not everyone is like that or has the privilege.
I’m sure everyone has different reasons for swinging either way. It could be that your partner likes it, or purely because you like everything to be the same – which is definitely me these days. Others may think 'well my trusty knickers are ones that don’t match my bras and I’m okay with that'. I definitely believe that when you’re a teenager, especially at the age my friend questioned me about whether I ‘matched’ or not, should NOT have been a major concern.
